Alex has 19 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in operating roles and investing in early-stage life science companies. Alex joined Seaflower Ventures in 1994. He previously spent 6 years in operating roles in the biopharmaceutical industry.
At Seaflower, Alex has led seed and early stage investments in numerous biomedical startups, including ViaCell Inc., Targanta Therapeutics, Zelos Therapeutics, Sopherion Therapeutics, endoVia Medical and Synthon Corp.
He currently serves as an observer on the boards of Targanta and Zelos, and previously served as Chairman of Targanta. Alex previously served on the boards of Zelos, ViaCell, Synthon Corp., endoVia and U.S. CareLink, and as an observer on the board of Sopherion Therapeutics.
Alex received his B.A. from Harvard University and his M.B.A. with honors from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
